It's the plant, it's the climate, it's the soil, it's the man who never repeats himself, as our grandfather used to say. No oil is the same as another, and above all, it cannot be from year to year. Ours is a small family business that produces a limited quantity of EVOO using traditional artisanal methods passed down through generations. Our passion makes our oil unique, and our hard work ensures the consistency and quality of our product year after year.

What makes our olive oil unique? Our story began generations ago at our family mill, il frantoio, in Chiaramonte Gulfi, a small village in Sicily's Hyblaean Mountains. Today, we still rely on the same traditional methods used for centuries. We hand-harvest our olives and process them in our own mill within hours using cold extraction to bring out the most intense flavor and maximum benefit. We use only hand-picked, not fully ripe, undamaged olives to create our exquisite EVOO.

Our EVOO is unique due to several key factors:

  • Fully Artisanal Method: This results in a consistent high-quality flavor year after year.
  • Clean Food: Our olive oil is made only from the juice of olives, without artificial flavors, additives, or preservatives.
  • Family Owned Mill: Our family-owned mill allows us to transport freshly picked olives to be milled within hours of harvest, preventing fermentation and preserving high quality.
  • Early Harvest: We typically harvest our olives during the first three weeks of October to ensure the ultimate freshness and lowest acidity in the oil.
  • Mono-Cultivar: Our oil is made from a single variety of olives, "Tonda Iblea," which is unique to our territory and results in an intense fruity taste with exceptional properties.
  • The Maximum Expression of Sicilian Oil: Our EVOO is full-bodied and balanced, characterized by marked notes of tomato and tomato leaf, Mediterranean herbs, thistle, nettle, and pepper.
  • Award Winner: Our EVOO has won prestigious awards from various award bodies, including "3 leaves" by Gambero Rosso – Oli d’Italia in 2020 and "gold medals" from OLIVE JAPAN and EVO IOOC Italy in 2021.

About us Oleificio Guccione is a small family business located in the South East of Sicily, Italy. We are Vito and Giuseppe Divita, two brothers and the youngest generation of our family to lead the business. Our goal is to bring the highest quality artisanal oil to people's tables while preserving our family tradition and values.

Our Olive Trees and Territory Our olive groves have flourished for centuries, especially in the Hyblaean Mountains. Our EVOO, made exclusively from the "Tonda Iblea" variety, has a very low yield in oil, resulting in a rich and intense fruity taste with exceptional nutritional properties.

This dedication to excellence means a lower yield in oil and less profitability, but we believe it is essential to uphold our family tradition.
